At least three 2006
/ 2007 South East Division FLW Stren Tournaments plus the
first FLW Stren Tournament of 2008 were won - and the all
time FLW record was broken - on a swimblade with a
soft
plastic shad body.

1-12-2008 Zapata,
Texas - Bass Pro Jeremy Guidry of Opelousas, LA, caught
a five-bass limit weighing 27 pounds, 13 ounces on January
28, 2008 to win the Stren Series Texas Division tournament
on Falcon Lake with a four-day FLW Outdoors record of 20
bass weighing 110 pounds. 2 ounces. Guidry's catch shattered
the previous record of 105 pounds, 8 ounces set by David
Mauldin of Tomball, Texas, during the 2006 Stren Series
tournament on Lake Amistad.

SWIMBLADE
FISHING TIPS
Throw these
swimblades anywhere you would throw a spinnerbait or a
crankbait. Choose lighter colors for clear water, mid-range
colors for moderately stained water and dark colors for
muddy water or night fishing. The highly polished blade also
acts as a weed gaurd and can easily be repositioned sideways
for a wider wobble for use in warm water, dingy water or
night fishing. Vary your retrieve and let the fish tell you
what they want. Start out fast, then try a medium speed
retrieve, then slow it down and be sure to throw in some
brief pauses. This bait will run anywhere from 1 to 4 feet
deep with rod held high and 4 to 8 feet deep with rod held
low and can be fished even deeper by letting it sink then
slowly swimming it or hopping it along the bottom. Thread
trailers on slowly and as straight as possible for best
results. Available with 1/4 oz and 3/8th oz heads - total
weight comes out right around 1/2 oz. Extra swimbait
trailers and tails can be ordered separately.
